It is estimated that leukemia and its allied cancers, Hodgkin’s disease, lymphoma and multiple myeloma, strike more than 96,000 Americans each year and kill more than 54,000 people. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health organization dedicated to finding cures for these diseases and to improving the quality of life of patients and their families.

The Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia Chapter serves 32 counties in Western Pennsylvania and the entire state of West Virginia. The Society relies on contributions from individuals, corporations, unions, foundations, clubs, organizations, special events, bequests and memorials. Due to extensive investment in research, the overall survival rate from leukemia has more than doubled in the last 30 years from 15% in 1965 to 40% in 1990.

Started in 2000, the Race to Any Place is the largest stationary bike race in Western Pennsylvania and the single most-important team fundraising event for the Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Visit us on the Web at www.leukemia-lymphoma.org
